"We've been hearing about these Zalman Heatpipe coolers for the video cards lately, so it is time to see what they are all about. In a nutshell, they are claiming to be able to give sufficient cooling for performance video boards without the use of a fan. " For something a little new to ASE Labs we have monthly system setups. I'll be covering the gaming systems for this month. I have three setups: your budget system that costs 800 or less, a middle level system that costs around 1200, and the Top of the Line system for $2000.Let's get into the budget system. "

It looks like Epox have succeeded in bringing an excellent platform chipset onto an excellent motherboard. The 8RDA+ is a cleanly laid out board and the inclusion of the 4 mount holes is a clue to its intended market. With features like onboard 10/100 Ethernet, SoundStorm audio, Firewire, USB2.0, AGP 8X and Memory support up to DDR400 Dual DDR, the Epox 8RDA+ is certainly a force to be reckoned with. The fact that you can unlock your Thoroughbred to lower multipliers is essential for 166MHz operation from standard processors and this feature on it’s own is very attractive. Combine that with the excellent BIOS and you have a winning combination.

PC Abusers has up a review on a Vantec Stealth 420W PSU

“Computers users generally fall into two categories; either you are a Mouse user or a Trackball user. If you have gone the way of Trackballs, mice just do not work for you. On the other hand, if you’re a mouser, using a trackball is about as foreign and impractical as imaginable. Over the years, companies such as Kensington, Microsoft, and Logitech have released Trackballs with features such as higher-accuracy, greater comfort, multimedia buttons, and even cordless ones. Today, we look at Logitech’s latest incarnation – the Cordless Optical Trackman.”

“Want your cake and eat it too? Tired of having two or more optical drives, and you are looking to cram your system parts into an XPC or similar MiniATX case? You have but two choices – drop three C-bills on a new DVD-RW or +RW drive with all around mediocre speed and performance ratings, or hand out a respectable sum one third that of DVD recorders and have stats that are shockingly good. "Nvidia's current line of GeForce4 Titanium video cards aim to offer an ideal, fast video card solution to fill the gap between the mainstream sub-$100 video card market and the ultra-high-end market currently catered by Nvidia's main competitor ATI. While the GeForce4 Titanium series has enjoyed its reigning seat for a good time, it is now time for them to secede their superiority to the ATI Radeon 9700. Meanwhile, the GeForce4 Titaniums continue to prove their worth, costing a fraction of their original introductory price, and adequately offering the 3D performance that all the latest games demand. Today, we will look at the 128MB MSI G4TI4200-TP. Let's find out why MSI's GeForce4 Ti4200 offers an unbeatable price to performance and value ratio."

The AMD Athlon MP 2600+ may mark the last of the MP Thoroughbreds but AMD is definitely running one of their favorite horses fast in the last turn. The MP 2600+ pegs an impressive 2133 MHz or 2.13 GHz and is the fourth in the line of the 0.13 Micron MP processors. What will it mean to you as Barton, Athlon-64 and Opteron stand in the wings waiting for their cue.

"It seems that the Intel crowd keeps getting bigger and the chipset market is up to the challenge with new designs all the time. But how can the end user know what works and what doesn't? Come join Cameron "Sov" Johnson as he answers these questions in regards to the EPoX 4PEA+ Motherboard. It uses the i845PE chipset and has a list of features that will make most folks drool, but can it cope with the stress that the enthusiast will put it through?
