Crucial USB Portable 6-in-1 Card Reader
review by David, 23 March 2003

If you're a regular user of flash memory storage solutions, whether you own a digital camera, a PDA, PocketPC or otherwise, you might sometimes find it rather irritating to have to connect your big-boy's-toy to the PC and start up the required software just to access the data on the flash memory cards used in the devices. Take digital cameras for example; most cameras come with imaging software which downloads the images from your camera to the PC. Sometimes the software may not be compatible with your OS, especially older cameras, or maybe your interface cable is missing or damaged. If you have a flash memory card reader, all you would need to do is pop the flash memory card into the reader, open up explorer and access your files. Way less hassle. This saves on battery use as well, as accessing data from the camera sucks up precious battery power if the camera isn't connected to an external power source.

Crucial kindly provided us with a review sample of their USB Portable 6-in-1 Card Reader units. Crucial is a company well known for it's memory solutions.
