Spectrum UV LED Fans
by David, 29 November 2003
fans usually serve as tools for ventilating your computer casing.
They also serve as heatsink fans when mounted on large heatsinks,
and on occasion also serve to add pizzazz to one's computer case,
especially when it comes to modded cases. We've reviewed similar
items in the past, including the CoolerMaster
Neon LED fan, and more recently the Vantec
Spectrum UV Fan.
time round, we take a look at a variation on the Spectrum UV Fan,
but with UV LEDs installed - the Spectrum UV LED Fan.
recently launched this line of Spectrum UV LED fans for the modding
community, coming in five tasty colour combinations: blue, green,
orange, blue+green and blue+orange. Unfortunately, Vantec only makes
these in 80mm only at the moment. Vantec sent over all five available
colour combinations, one of each, for review.

off the 12V line, these fans are rated to push 39 CFM, with an amperage
of 0.25A. Rated at 34 dBA, the fans are pretty silent while managing
to push 36 CFM of air, which is pretty good for an 80mm fan.
packaging is pretty standard; with a clear plastic box which shows
off the contents nicely. The box is clearly labelled 'UV LED', which
indicated the type of fan contained inside. The packaging is very
well suited for display on retail racks and shelves, and look very
attractive and appealling.
